How to calculate how many stickers fit on a sheet
Rule of thumb: every sticker needs a small gap around it so the cutter has room to work — 1/8" (0.125") is standard, and it’s the default this tool uses. The smaller the sticker and the tighter the gap, the more copies gang onto one sheet, and every extra copy per sheet lowers the cost each.
The math is simple: columns = (sheet width + gap) ÷ (sticker width + gap), rounded down. Rows work the same way with the heights, and stickers per sheet = columns × rows. The gap gets added to the sheet size too, because the last sticker in each row doesn’t need a trailing gap. The calculator runs the numbers twice — once as entered and once with the sticker rotated 90° — and shows whichever orientation fits more. The default sheet is 12" × 18".
Worked example: a 3" × 3" sticker on a 12" × 18" sheet with the default 0.125" gap. Columns: (12 + 0.125) ÷ (3 + 0.125) = 3.88, rounded down to 3. Rows: (18 + 0.125) ÷ 3.125 = 5.8, rounded down to 5.
