Vehicle graphics FAQ

Need this done for you? We handle Vehicle Graphics for businesses across Buffalo and the Twin Cities.

How much vinyl do vehicle graphics need?

It depends on the vehicle and how much you cover. Spot graphics on a car run roughly 10 to 25 square feet, while partial graphics on a full-size cargo van can be 200 to 300.

What are spot graphics?

Spot graphics are logos, lettering, and contact info applied to key areas rather than the whole vehicle. They are an affordable way to turn any car, truck, or van into rolling advertising. It’s our specialty, and we install on-site at your business.

Do I have to bring my vehicle in?

For lettering and spot or partial graphics, no. We come to your place of business and install on location.

How the math works

How to estimate vehicle graphics square footage

The quick rule of thumb: partial graphics take roughly 75 to 150 ft² of vinyl on a sedan, 100 to 175 on an SUV or pickup, 200 to 300 on a full-size cargo van, and 300 to 450 on a 16 to 18 ft box truck. Spot graphics (logos, lettering, and contact info on key panels) use a fraction of that, often just 10 to 60 ft² depending on the vehicle.

Instead of making you measure every panel, the estimator pairs your vehicle class with the typical dimensions for that class and looks up the vinyl range installers plan for at each coverage level: spot graphics or partial graphics. It gives a low-to-high range rather than a single number because glass, trim, bumpers, and roof coverage all change the real footage. And it estimates material only, never a dollar figure. Pricing comes with your quote.

A worked example: pick Cargo van (full-size) and Partial graphics and the tool shows 200 to 300 ft² of estimated vinyl. Switch that same van to spot graphics and it drops to 20 to 40 ft². Coverage level, not the vehicle, is the biggest lever. See vehicle graphics for design and install options, or request a quote.
