The table is the booth
At a career fair, a farmers market or a church fall festival, your booth is usually a folding table. A printed throw turns it into a sign and hides the totes underneath. We design table throws in Buffalo, MN and produce them with trusted print partners: full-color dye sublimation on 8.8 oz polyester, hemmed, for 4, 6 and 8 foot tables.

Standard covers are made for tables 48, 72 and 96 inches long, 30 deep and 30 tall.

Dye sublimation puts the dye into the polyester instead of printing on top of it.
- Washable throws
Our standard printed throws machine wash cold on a gentle cycle, then hang or lay flat to dry. Follow the care tag on fitted, stretch and round covers.

A throw is bigger than its table because it drops down every open side. Planning size is the floor-length math from our table throw size calculator for a table 30 inches deep and 30 tall; finished size is what our standard printed throws are sewn to.

Finished throws have rounded corners and hang about 2 inches above the floor, and the open-back style runs a little deeper than the planning number, so the two columns won't match to the inch. Folding tables run about 29 to 30 inches tall. Watch the 4-footers: many are 24 inches deep, but our 4 ft covers are made for 30 inch deep tables, so measure first and tell us if yours is 24.

Overhang is how far the cover drops past the table edge. The first four rows assume a 28 inch tall table: a 60 inch round gets 19 inches, well short of the floor, and on a 29 or 30 inch folding table every hem sits an inch or two higher.
Open back, closed back, fitted or stretch
- Throw, 3-sided open back
Drops on the front and both ends and leaves the back open, so you can sit behind the table and reach the boxes underneath.
- Throw, 4-sided closed back
Full 360-degree coverage for a table seen from every side, like a product display table in the middle of a gym. It blocks your chair, so it suits tables nobody sits behind.
- Fitted cover
Tailored corners and sewn edges for one table size, in 6 and 8 ft, open or closed back. The closer fit leaves less loose fabric to catch the wind outdoors or catch feet in a busy aisle.
- Stretch cover
Stretch fabric, made in 6 ft and 8 ft versions, that fits snug to most folding tables of that length, with canvas loops that secure it to each leg.
- Runner
A printed accent across the front, over a solid-color throw in black, red, yellow, blue or green. Made in custom sizes.
- Round cover
For round tables 31.5 to 60 inches across and 28 inches tall, plus 31.5 inch bar-height tables 42 inches tall, at galas and banquets. Sizes are in the chart above.
Design for what people actually see
The front drop is your billboard. On a 6 foot table it's about 72 by 30 inches, roughly 15 square feet of artwork, and the only part most visitors look at straight on.
Keep the logo and your one key line in the top two thirds. Product, literature and knees cover roughly the bottom third of the front panel for most of the day, so give that band color, not information.
Center the logo on the front face, not on the whole piece of fabric, and keep the tabletop simple: whatever you print there ends up under your brochures. Put the list of services on a retractable banner behind you or a table tent, and let the throw say who you are from across the room.

Wind at outdoor markets
Outdoors, plan for wind. Maple Grove Farmers Market's 2024 vendor guidelines called the market site very windy and required 25 pounds of weight on each canopy leg. Table throw FAQ
Our standard 6 ft throws, made for a table 72 inches long, 30 deep and 30 tall, are finished at 126 by 83.5 inches (4-sided) and 126 by 62.25 inches (3-sided) and hang about 2 inches above the floor. To check a different table, run the table throw size calculator.
Open back (3-sided) if anyone sits behind the table: it leaves room for your chair and the boxes underneath. Closed back (4-sided) if people see the table from every side. It gives 360-degree coverage but blocks chair access.
A throw is a loose drape. A fitted cover has tailored corners and sewn edges for one table size, so it looks tidy and has less loose fabric to catch the wind. A stretch cover fits snug and secures to each leg with canvas loops. Throws come in 4, 6 and 8 ft; fitted and stretch covers in 6 and 8 ft.
Yes. For our standard throws: machine wash cold on a gentle cycle, lay flat or hang to dry, and take creases out with a hand steamer. No bleach, tumble dryer or iron. Care instructions differ between makers, so follow the ones for your cover.
Not that we can confirm. Our standard throws don't list a flame rating, so don't assume ours or any printed throw is. Saint Paul's fire safety guidance for assemblies and exhibits calls for flame-retardant tablecloths on display tables used near a heat source such as cooking devices, and convention centers commonly require fire-resistant table coverings. If your venue or fire marshal wants a flame certificate, tell us before you order and we'll find out whether one is available for that cover.
The whole cover. Our printed throws are dye-sublimated in full color, so a background color, photo or pattern can run across every panel, not just a logo on the front. For a printed band only, put a runner over a solid-color throw.
