Cut vinyl or printed: how to choose
Cut vinyl lettering is solid-color vinyl cut into the letters and shapes themselves, with no background. It is the cleanest look for names, phone numbers and one- or two-color logos, and it reads well from a distance. Printed decals carry full color, gradients and photos, and are cut to the outline of the design after printing. Many trucks use both: a printed logo on the door and cut lettering for the phone number and website. On the back glass, perforated window film shows the graphic from outside while the driver still sees out.
Numbers the state cares about
Some decals are not just advertising. Trucks that need a USDOT number have to display it legibly, and our USDOT lettering guide covers what the rule actually requires. Boats and fish houses have Minnesota rules down to the inch: see boat registration numbers and fish house rules. We set those decals to the rule, not by eye.
Business vehicles only
We letter work trucks, vans, trailers and fleets, and a personal car that carries your business. We don’t take personal styling jobs like custom decals or stripes. If the vehicle is leased or shared, car magnets carry the same logo and come off when you need them to. For bigger coverage, vehicle graphics covers partial and trailer graphics, and our care guide covers keeping decals sharp through a Minnesota winter.

Vehicle decals FAQ
Yes. We come to your place of business and install on site, so there is no vehicle drop-off. Quick lettering and decals can go on outdoors, weather permitting; more involved graphics need a covered, climate controlled shop.
Cut vinyl suits solid-color logos, names and numbers: there is no background, just the letters. Printed decals suit full-color logos, gradients and photos, and are cut to shape after printing.
Only when the vehicle works for your business. We letter work trucks, vans, trailers and fleets, and your own car is fine for business lettering or magnets. We don’t take personal styling jobs like custom decals or stripes.
Ask your leasing company first. If permanent graphics are out, car magnets carry the same logo and phone number and come off when the lease ends.
Yes. We work from your logo files or rebuild the logo for vinyl, and you approve a proof before anything is produced.
It depends on the size, the number of colors and how many vehicles. We quote every project up front, free and with no commitment.
